About Me

A brief introduction

I'm Anicca Liu, a filmmaker and visual artist based in Chengdu, China. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Film & Media from Queen's University, Canada, where I developed my craft in narrative filmmaking, experimental cinema, and visual storytelling.

My work explores the intersection of consciousness, perception, and visual art. I'm drawn to film poetry and found footage as mediums to externalize inner experiences — transforming abstract thoughts into concrete audiovisual experiences.

I'm currently pursuing a Master's in Psychology & Art Therapy at Shinawatra University, deepening my understanding of the psychological dimensions of creative expression. My practice spans directing, editing, set design, and art direction.

I try to capture, to visualize, to auralize, and to form a concrete experience when I'm doing my thinkings daily. I've always been one of those people who overthink and passively produce thousands of thoughts each day.

My inspirations are from the observations of how my sensitive perception capability disturbs my mind, and how the psycho-spiritual faculty helps me to recollect and maintain awareness of reality.

The styles I followed are Film Poem and Found Footage. I chose an aesthetic style that is colorful and dream-like, creating a distanced and vague sense to portray a pattern of my wandering minds.
